John graduated from Hicksville High School, as have three of his children. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami, at the age of 33, while working full time and raising a family with his wife Margaret. So he knows about commitment and perseverance. He has four grown children and two beautiful granddaughters.

He is also a serious, amateur, scenic photographer with a special interest in our national parks, particularly in the western states.
